Get lean or die to try

Before you can get that V-line which you can find at the bottom of your abs, you first have to work on your fitness particularly on getting lean.

Working on your leanness plays a very important part in developing your abs and also your V-line.  This involves consuming fewer calories than you burn or you won’t lose fat at all.

To know how much calories you need, your intake should be between 10 and 12 calories per pound of your body daily.

For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you need between 1,500 to 1,800 calories.

While this may look simple to follow, it takes a lot of discipline to religiously follow this kind of calorie intake.

To ensure that you are on the right path to leanness, focus on your macronutrients namely your fat, protein, and carbohydrates as they are vital in losing fat in the body.

And when it comes to your macronutrients, make sure they are well represented in your diet,  According to a study, lower-carb diets produce fast weight-loss results, but going too low on carbohydrates can be dangerous

You can incorporate unprocessed carbs like whole grains into your diet.  You should also make sure that you get a protein-rich food like chicken, turkey, and tuna in each meal.  Don’t forget to add a serving of veggies, peas or beans.  And to cap off, you can also add fruits or nuts.

And if you are dead set on getting lean and achieving that visible V line muscle look, there are certain types of food that you should avoid.  While the occasional cheat day is okay, make sure that you avoid these:

  • Alcoholic beverages (wines, beers, etc.)
  • Soda and sports drinks
  • Ice cream, chocolates, chips, cakes, etc.
  • Processed food like hot dogs and sausages
  • White foods (rice, pasta, and bread)

With strength training, your abs are stimulated and hormones like your growth hormone and testosterone are released into your body.

Apart from your strength training, you should also be able to focus on your abs training.  The more muscular and more powerful your abs are, the deeper the cuts and separations are.
